El Port de la Selva is left without potable water indefinitely
Breakdown
The City Council is working to solve the breakdown and asks not to use tap water for cooking or drinking
A breakdown in Port de la Selva has left the entire town without supply during the peak tourist season. The City Council is working to find a solution, but warns that the cutoff is “undefined”.
The breakdown occurred on Monday night and since then the council has been looking for a solution to fix it. Specifically, the fault has occurred in one of the two wells that supply water to the municipality and that only have half the volume of water needed during peak season.
In fact, the City Council already requested the population this Monday not to use tap water for cooking or drinking, after technicians detected a high salt level in the network. It also reminds residents that they must comply with the measures issued in a municipal decree, which includes the prohibition of watering gardens, cleaning any vehicle or vessel, and filling pools.
